Basilar Metatarsal Osteotomy with Distal Soft-Tisue Realignment for Hallux Valgus
Abstract:
Different hallux valgus deformities require different types of surgical correction. Incongruent metatarsophalangeal joints, greater hallux valgus angles (generally >30°), and metatarsus primus varus (>12°) are indications for a basilar metatarsal osteotomy with distal soft-tissue realignment.
