On behalf of West Coast Sports Medicine Foundation, we would like to thank you for your gracious ongoing support of the West Coast Sports Medicine Foundation.  At this time, we respectfully request your continued support of the 10th annual Charitable Golf Tournament and Auction at MountainGate Country Club, on Monday, September 15, 2008.  The proceeds will benefit the Team to Win high school community outreach sports medicine program.

 

The West Coast Sports Medicine Foundation, founded in 1994, is a non-profit, 501 C 3 charitable organization (Tax ID # 95-4497009) dedicated to providing economically deprived high school students with an opportunity to participate in interscholastic sports and have access to quality sports medicine care and services designed to improve health and ensure safety. Students participating in the Team to Win, Sports Medicine Youth Program learn about teamwork and live a healthy lifestyle.  Participation in school-based sports encourages cooperation and understanding, helps foster and build relationships, enhances equal opportunity and imparts valuable lessons and skills needed in life to survive.

 

This program not only supports and nurtures the athletic endeavors of its students, but it also encourages scholarly achievement and community involvement.  Currently, this program serves 13,000 male and female high school students in 22 high schools throughout Los Angeles County.  Over 55% of the youth served in this program live at or below the poverty line.

 

We hope you will continue to support the WCSMF and the 13,000 socio-economically disadvantaged student athletes, allowing for safer participation, and the opportunity to move onto college.  This year proves to be an important year for the WCSMF Charitable Golf Classic at MountainGate Country Club.
